Healing Heart Foundation (HHF), a renowned NGO based in Lagos, is proud to announce the maiden edition of the Widows Cooking Competition, in partnership with Ajinimoto.
This exciting event aims to empower widows in Lagos State by providing them with an opportunity to showcase their culinary skills and foster economic independence.
The Widows Cooking Competition, set to take place in Isolo, Lagos State, promises to be a remarkable platform for widows to exhibit their culinary expertise while competing in a friendly and supportive environment. With a focus on financial assistance, skill development, and education, HHF recognizes the challenges faced by widows and aims to empower them through this unique initiative.
The partnership with Ajinomoto, a renowned food seasoning brand, highlights their shared commitment to supporting widows and uplifting their lives. Ajinomoto’s involvement underscores their dedication to promoting the value of nutritious and flavorful cooking, enhancing culinary skills, and fostering empowerment in the community.
Speaking on this, the president of Healing Heart Foundation, Rev. Mrs Sophy Mbanisi said “We are very delighted to organize this ground-breaking cooking competition.This maiden edition of the Widows Cooking Competition will provide a stage for widows to demonstrate their creativity, culinary knowledge, and presentation skills.
“Participants in the competition will be judged by a panel of esteemed chefs and culinary experts, evaluating their dishes based on taste, presentation, and nutritional value.
“Additionally, the competition will offer opportunities for networking, mentorship, and career guidance”.
HHF and Ajinomoto invite widows from all over Lagos State to participate in this empowering event.
Speaking further, Mrs Mbanisi said the competition aims to celebrate the resilience and talents of widows, providing a platform for them to gain recognition, support, and valuable resources to further their aspirations.
In her words, “By showcasing their cooking skills, widows will not only compete for prizes but also forge connections, enhance their self-confidence, and gain exposure to new opportunities”.
The Widows Cooking Competition will be held at Banex House in Isolo, Lagos State, on 23rd of June 2023. Interested participants can register by visiting the Healing Heart Foundation’s website at www.healingheartfoundationng.org .
The event is open to widows of all ages and backgrounds, and participation is free of charge.
